solipsistic NATION No. 51: Accelerate

August 17, 2007

AccelerateOn today’s show we’re going to focus on tech house. We’ll also talk with Vivian Host, the editor of XLR8R Magazine.

Every week I get hit with a tidal wave of new releases that I listen to in order to deliver to you a mix of the very best of all genres of electronic music. One way I keep from drowning in all this music is reading XLR8R Magazine. XLR8R covers the latest in electronic music, culture, style and technology. XLR8R also releases a weekly podcast and videocast which you should definitely subscribe to.

As a DJ and as a someone who loves electronic music in all its myriad forms and as a graphic designer, XLR8R Magazine seems like it’s published just for me!

Tech house? Where do you find this stuff!?

Great interview with Vivian. I’m off to Borders to pick up the latest issue of XLR8R.

    Hi Gretch,

I honestly don’t remember where I first came across tech house but the inspiration for this week’s show is all based on Evan Marc’s “Silver.” It’s such a powerful song that without even knowing it, I was selecting tech house songs for my set.

I think you’re going to dig XLR8R. It’s by far my favorite magazine about electronic music.

    ciao,
    Bazooka Joe

    Dejan,

Thanks for sharing your music. “Coup De Coeur” was the perfect song to close this week’s show! I plan to play more of your music on upcoming shows.

    ciao,
    Bazooka Joe
