solipsistic NATION No. 42: The Newest In New!

June 15, 2007

The Newest in New!Every week I play a theme or explore a genre of electronic music. Hell, sometimes I even do both!

Last week, for example, I played an hour of noise that would either make your ears bleed or put you in a trance. The week before that I did a mix of Reggaeton. This week I really don’t have or a theme or a genre I want to play. Instead, I’m going to play some great tunes for you that have been sent my way the last few weeks. The stuff is so good that I would have felt constipated if I didn’t put this show out.

This week solipsistic NATION continues to promote art and design culture with another t-shirt give away contest, courtesy of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction. Email me at solipsisticnation@gmail.com and you could be a lucky winner of one Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction t-shirt of your choice.

Thanks for turning me on to Mirah. What a beautiful voice!

Yeah, Mirah’s got a great set of pipes. I could listen to read from her grocery list and be totally enchanted.

I think the remix of “La Familia” is even better than the original version. Whoever did the remix really kept the best elements of the song with new music that pushes “La Familia” in an entirely new direciton.

Hey, Joe, I really liked this week’s mix. Last week’s noise show was nice but don’t make it a habit ;-)

Thanks, Fred. Yeah, I saw that on Boing Boing, too.

Y’know, I think I’m long over due for putting out an all mashup show.
